1. Introduction

Customer Connect (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates an AI-powered review management platform that helps businesses monitor, analyze, and respond to customer reviews. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform (the “Service”).

Please read this policy carefully. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you register for Customer Connect, we collect:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Business name
  • Password (stored in encrypted form)
  • Billing information (processed securely by Stripe)

2.2 Google User Data

If you connect your Google Business Profile, we access the following data through the Google Business Profile API, subject to your explicit authorization:

  • Your Google Business Profile name, address, and location
  • Customer reviews posted on your Google Business Profile
  • Review metadata (reviewer name, star rating, date, text)
  • Your existing and newly posted review responses

This data is used solely to display your reviews within the Customer Connect dashboard, generate AI-powered response suggestions, and post responses on your behalf when you authorize us to do so.

We do not use Google user data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the core features of the Service.

2.3 Usage Data

We automatically collect:

  • Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited)
  • Device information (device type, operating system)
  • Feature usage patterns

2.4 Communications

If you contact us, we retain records of that correspondence.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • Display your customer reviews from connected platforms
  • Generate AI-powered review response suggestions using your Brand Voice settings
  • Post responses to reviews on your behalf when authorized
  • Analyze review sentiment, topics, and trends
  • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • Send transactional emails
  • Respond to support requests
  • Improve and develop new features

4. Google API Services — Limited Use Disclosure

IMPORTANT: Customer Connect's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically:

  • We only request Google user data necessary to provide the Service
  • Google user data is used only to display reviews, generate response suggestions, and post responses — not for any secondary purpose
  • We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine learning models
  • We do not sell Google user data to third parties
  • We do not use Google user data for advertising
  • We do not allow humans to read your Google user data unless you have given explicit permission, it is necessary for security or legal compliance, or it is aggregated and anonymized

This limited use applies to all data obtained through Google APIs, including raw data and any data aggregated, anonymized, or derived from it.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in these limited circumstances:

5.1 Service Providers

  • Anthropic (Claude AI) — to generate AI-powered review responses. Review text is sent to Anthropic's API. Governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy
  • Stripe — for payment processing
  • Resend — for transactional email delivery (waitlist confirmations, account notifications). Email metadata (recipient, subject, send time) is processed by Resend. Governed by Resend's Privacy Policy
  • Railway — for application hosting
  • Database provider — for secure data storage

5.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

5.3 Business Transfers

If Customer Connect is acquired or merged, your data may be transferred with advance notice.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel:

  • Data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate
  • After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted
  • Google access tokens are revoked immediately upon account deletion or disconnection

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security including:

  • TLS/HTTPS encryption in transit
  • Encryption of sensitive data at rest
  • Secure, access-controlled infrastructure
  • Regular security reviews

8. Your Rights and Choices

You may have the following rights:

  • Access — request a copy of your data
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion — request deletion of your data
  • Portability — request your data in portable format
  • Withdrawal of Consent — disconnect integrations at any time through Settings

Revoking Google Access

You may revoke access at any time by:

  1. Going to Settings > Platforms and clicking Disconnect
  2. Or visiting myaccount.google.com/permissions and removing Customer Connect

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of material changes by email and by displaying a notice within the Service.
